Two seasons, one stage.

The brief

The National Jazz Orchestra of North Macedonia plays a full season every year: big concerts at the Macedonian Philharmonic, the National Opera and Ballet and the Macedonian National Theatre, summer stages in Ohrid and Bitola, and evenings with guests like Kurt Elling, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Maria Mendes and the Yellowjackets.

I designed the posters and social media visuals for every concert of the 2024 and 2025 seasons. Each event needed its own character, while the whole season still had to feel like it came from one orchestra.

The idea

The 2024 season leaned on bold, cubist illustrations of instruments and musicians, with expressive display lettering and a strong colour for every night. For 2025, the posters were built around paintings by Macedonian artist Sergej Andreevski, whose gestural, colourful portraits of musicians are instantly recognisable.

Across both seasons, a clear typographic system ties it together: the title, the orchestra and the conductor, then a single line with the date and venue, so the artwork leads and the information is always easy to find.
